Book or Business?

Are you selling your book or starting a business?"

A friend asked me this question recently after checking out my website, www.be-stirred.com. The short answer is "yes" to both questions. The long answer is quite long, and getting to it involves a story of denial and discovery that I intend to share. Therefore, I'll be doing a series of posts about what I learned AFTER Midgard was published about building marketing momentum, finding an audience, and doing things like making connections with local bookstores and businesses.

Speaking of which...did you know that April 29th is National Independent Bookstores Day (IBD)? I didn't...until my local bookstore, Birch Tree Bookstore, decided to host a local authors' event to celebrate IBD this year. I am delighted to announce that I am one of the participating local authors, and I'd love to see some of you in Leesburg, Virginia, then!

Finally, thanks to all of you who responded thoughtfully to my last post with feedback or reviews. I appreciate your honest feedback and advice. Additionally, a few of you asked some thought-provoking questions that led to changes in the working draft of Midgard's sequel.
