What if there were no more winters?

"What if there were no more winters?"

This question was on my mind frequently over the past ten days or so. My family and I had a trip planned to a local ski & snowboard resort that we canceled last minute due to lack of snow. We made some quick changes to our travel plans and went to Brian Head, Utah instead. There, we enjoyed days of fun snowboarding together.

We know we are fortunate to be able to make those kinds of adjustments, and we are also lucky that other options were open this winter. The latter is less of a certainty in the future.

A few days ago I read an article from Axios (entitled "Our Winters are Warming Faster than our Summers") about how winter temperatures are warming across North America.

The world of "Midgard" is one in which humans have destroyed their own habitat through their own short-sightedness and inability to cooperate. One of the many impacts of these failures is that most humans have never seen real snow. At present, such a world is fiction. The reality is that it will not remain so unless our species makes environmental stewardship a priority.

That is why 10% of all profits from "Midgard" go to Protect Our Winters, a non-profit that aims to raise awareness on issues related to environmental stewardship. We donated last year and will continue to do so annually and for the foreseeable future. Check them out if you have a moment!
