From “new” to “established” author

How long will we be “new” authors?

One of my Creator Institute cohort asked this question during a class on what happens after the book comes out.  The answer we all got was “about a year.”

Believe it or not, it has been a year since hard copies of Midgard became available - and it’s been one heck of an experience - plenty of highs and many learning opportunities. The transition from “new” to “established” author  feels…unremarkable. Still, the milestone allowed me to reflect on my experiences, appreciate how far I’ve come, and acknowledge that I have a steep climb ahead as an evolving writer.

BREAK -

I’ve had a lot of questions about Midgard’s sequel and when it will be ready -

The last three months have been a struggle to write…in between events to promote Midgard and, more recently, wrapping up work on the audiobook (which will be out VERY soon).  Once that is complete, I intend to hit “pause” on promoting Midgard and lean into book 2.

Thanks again, ye Midgard Hamlet, for the constant feedback, encouragement, and reasons to keep going!

Sincerely,

Jeanne
